A MUSICAL based on the hits by 80s group Madness is to be staged next week.
Our House opens at the Park View Theatre Complex in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday, June 17 at the start of a four-night run.
The show, produced by amateur group Dryburn Theatrical Workshop, is set in Camden Town and follows the story of local lad Joe Casey, who commits a petty crime on his 16th birthday to impress his girlfriend and is forced to make a life-changing decision.
The show is peppered with Madness hits, including House of Fun, My Girl, It Must Be Love and Baggy Trousers.
Malcolm Quinn, Chairman of Dryburn Theatrical Workshop, said, “‘Our House is a fast, funny and moving story about love, families and life – a must for all fans of Madness, but also for those who like a dramatic story, great music and a fabulous evening’s entertainment”.
