A DRIVER was taken to hospital this morning after a two-car crash near Consett.
A Toyota Starlet and a Honda Jazz were involved in the crash on Woodside Bank, at Iveston just after 8.30am.
The driver of the Honda, a 29-year-old Consett woman, was cut free from the wreckage by firefighters and taken to the University Hospital of North Durham suffering from whiplash.
The driver of the Toyota was able to free herself and was also taken to hospital, although her injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road was closed for an hour after the accident.
