POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a locked car was stolen overnight.
The Chrysler Voyager was taken from Taylor Street, in Consett between 9pm on Wednesday, April 25 and noon the following day.
PC Kirsty Malone, based in Consett, said it was rare for locked vehicles to be stolen.
She added: "A similar theft did take place in the same street in January and it is possible that in both cases the cars were loaded onto another vehicle such as a recovery truck".
Anyone with information is asked to ring police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
