POLICE are urging van drivers to be on guard after spare wheels were stolen in a series of overnight thefts.
Three thefts were reported in the Consett area between the evening of February 29 and the following morning.
In each case, spare wheels were taken from underneath Ford Transit vans. Two incidents were reported in Greencroft Road, in Delves Lane, and a third in Front Street, Consett.
PC Kirsty Malone, of Consett Police, said: "We are urging van owners to remain vigilant as thieves are targeting this particular model of van.
"If anyone has information they should contact police."
