A TOURING theatre company are to stage a production of Pride and Prejudice.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company, which usually specialises in outdoor performances of the classics, is to perform the show at the Gala Theatre, in Durham on Wednesday, August 11.
Laura Turner has adapted Jane Austen’s classic novel for the stage, in which Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters pursue their quest for true love in spite of their interfering mother.
Among misunderstandings, mistakes and miscommunications, the women fight for the men they love until Elizabeth can finally surpass her prejudices to see past the proud exterior of the enigmatic Mr Darcy.
The company are now embarking on their 11th annual tour, which has seen them perform in venues including Woburn Abbey and Fountains Abbey Tickets for the show, produced by Richard Main, are £12 for adults or £10 for concessions.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the Gala Box Office on 0191-332 4041.
