A RESIDENTIAL care home has been rated as ‘good’ by the industry watchdog following a recent inspection.

Hollie Hill Care Home, in Stanley, was deemed safe, caring, responsive to residents’ needs and well-led by the Care Quality Commission.

The home, which is in Durham Road, provides care for older people some of whom have nursing or dementia care needs.

Five bedrooms are contracted by the Clinical Commissioning Group to provide intermediate care for people who need care following their discharge from hospital, before they return home or decisions are made about their future care needs.

The inspectors said that people living in the home, which is run by Four Seasons Health Care, felt they were looked after by staff who were kind and patient and who treated them with respect for their dignity.

Company spokesman Marjorie Condacos said: “I am very proud of the team for their dedication. Such a good inspection outcome and such positive comments from residents and relatives can only be achieved by an enthusiastic and professional team.”
