AN internet troll who was jailed for causing "terror, fear and paranoia" has been banned from contacting his victims for five years.

John Nimmo, 28, from South Shields, South Tyneside, made anti-Semitic death threats to Labour MP Luciana Berger and told her she would "get it like Jo Cox".

He was jailed for two years and three months a week ago at Newcastle Crown Court after he admitted nine offences under the Malicious Communications Act.

Judge Robert Adams has now imposed a Criminal Behaviour Order which, among other prohibitions, forces him to give police passwords for his mobile phones, laptops and tablets, as well as details of his internet use.

He must not contact five of his victims or their close relatives.

Among them was Ms Berger, who is MP for Liverpool Wavertree.

He is also banned from using a false identity to post online.

Judge Adams told him: "If you breach any of the terms of this order you can be punished with a sentence of up to five years."

Nimmo, appearing from prison via a videolink, did not oppose the order.

Last week the judge said Nimmo had "caused terror, fear and paranoia".

It was the second time Nimmo has been jailed, after he was imprisoned in 2014 for eight weeks after sending abusive messages on Twitter to feminist campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez and MP Stella Creasy.
