A NEW £6.5m housing development is to hold two open days at the weekend.
The Elms in Chester-e-Street is an assisted living scheme made up of 52 apartments and six bungalows designed specifically for people aged 55 and over who require support with their healthcare or housing.
The Cestria Community Housing development provides self-contained accommodation with access to support staff to allow residents to stay independent.
Open events will take place on Saturday and Sunday (oct 3-4) from 11am to 3pm each day to allow people to look inside the building, which includes a cafe, IT suite, hairdressers and treatment room.
Local company Orchard Home Care Services has been appointed to provide overnight care and support to residents of The Elms if required.
Scheme Manager Sharon Sykes said: “We’ll have staff on hand ready to answer any questions and will be delighted to show visitors around this fantastic new scheme.”
The first of the developments’ new residents will begin moving into their homes this week.
