CHILDREN have been raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Shotley Bridge Junior School, in Shotley Bridge, near Consett, chose the cause as its charity for the year because Lee Gourley, the father of two pupils, has a guide dog.
Today (Thursday, October 10), pupils sold goods, held raffles and organised various fundraising activities.
The daytime activities were followed by an evening disco.
Headteacher Helen Cardy said at least £550 had been raised.
“It’s lovely because the children can get involved in the community and it’s also it’s personal for them,” she said.
