POLICE say they discovered 14 young cannabis plants in a property in Grange Villa, near Chester-le-Street on Wednesday night (May 22). Two people were arrested and released with a caution, while the plants and growing equipment were destroyed.
BOTTLE FAIR: An antique bottle and collectors fair is to be held at Bowburn Community Centre, near Durham, on Saturday, June 8, starting at 10.30am. Admission is 50p and the event will conclude with a charity auction for St Oswald’s Hospice.
RAMBLE ON: Durham Rambling Club is to hold two walks in the Wetherby area on Sunday, June 2. The nine and 12-mile walks will take in the area around Harewood House.
