A SCHOOL has staged a science and engineering week.
Pupils at Belmont Community School, in Belmont, Durham City, took part in a range of activities to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week.
Some quizzed teachers who had taken on the role of a ‘Secret Genius’ to learn more about inventors.
Others took part in a Dragons’ Den-style business challenge, featuring design and presentation work.
Year nine and ten students took part in a challenge organised by the Society of Biology.
Julie Ryder, from the school, said: “We aim to stimulate student curiosity, interest and enjoyment of science.”
