A CHARITY fundraising group is inviting people to remember lost loved ones by making a donation to their cause.

Members of Neville’s Cross Friends of Cancer Research UK have erected two Trees of Remembrance in the Gates shopping centre, in Durham.

Shoppers are invited to hang a bauble in memory of a loved one, in return for a donation to the charity.

The fundraiser has become an annual tradition, with many people returning year after year to place their decoration.

The group was formed more than 30 years ago and has since raised more than £250,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The trees of remembrance will be in place until Sunday (December 16).
