TWO more teams are needed to make up the numbers for a new six-a-side football league.

Durham Thursday Sixes League is set to start at the Sir Bobby Robson Sports Centre, at Durham Community Business College, in Bracken Court, Ushaw Moor, near Durham.

Ten teams have signed up to take part, six in one division and, so far, four in the other, for which there remain vacancies for two further sides.

Apart from the opportunity to play regularly weekly fixtures there is also free FA affiliation as an extra incentive for teams to enter.

Sixes area manager Christopher Sockett said: "I’m pleased we’ve already filled one division and are on course to filling a second.

"Fixtures for grading games have already been drafted up and we would ask all teams to be at the pitch ten minutes before their kick-off to allow for the smooth-running of the fixtures."

Grading matches, played on adjoining pitches, will take place on July 29, kicking off at 7.30, 8.10 and 8.50pm.

First fixtures see The Black Widows facing The Super VI, AFC All-Stars meeting Persian Monarchs and Real Banter Bus up against The Business, in one division, with Linden Road taking on Neil’s Dynamos in the other.

Teams submitting late entries will meet either Scorpions (8.10pm) or Deportivo Lac Ability (8.50pm), on July 29.
