A CHARITY organisation has thanked the people of Darlington for their continued support at a fundraising book sale.

The Darlington Lions Club saw a 30 per cent increase in sales at its charity bookshop, based in Houndgate, Darlington, in the last week, with proceeds going to local charities.

The organisation also hosts a 50p bookstall in the town’s market in an effort to raise funds for its charity of the year.

This year, Lions chairman Tony Gent has chosen to support Heel and Toe, a children’s charity that provides conductive education to children with cerebral palsy, dyspraxia and other motor disorders in the North East.
