A HUNDRED wedding dresses which were donated to charity will go on sale this weekend.
Following its prom dress sale in Queen Street Shopping Arcade ,in Darlington, the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is taking over the same unit to sell the bridal gowns and accessories.
Every penny made on the day will go to supporting GNAAS, which operates three air ambulance helicopters across the region.
The shop will be open tomorrow and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. All the dresses are brand new and under £300, although some will be priced at a level significantly less than that.
The designer dresses were donated by a bridal shop which went into administration. There will also be shoes, hats and veils.
Diane Walker, GNAAS fundraiser, said: “There are some real bargains to be had here. Many of these dresses had price tags of more than one thousand pounds, so there will be some very happy customers on the day.
“Plus, all the money goes to supporting this lifesaving service.”
