Darlington are keeping their fingers crossed that Ryan Bowman is given permission to play tomorrow's final game of the season at home to Kettering Town.

The striker was stretchered off the field suffering from concussion last Saturday at Forest Green, and must receive the go-ahead from a doctor before he can play.

Manager Craig Liddle is already struggling for numbers. Drew Broughton is suspended while Paul Arnison and Neil Wainwright are both "touch and go" with calf problems.

"We need permission off a doctor for Ryan to play," said Liddle. "I hope we'll get it, we wont know until Saturday.

"With him being concussed he's got to go through a series of tests for it to be deemed safe for him to play.

"We want to win the game, but we'll take no risks. You can't take risks with a head injury."

Kris Taylor (calf) and John McReady (hamstring) are both expected to be fit to play against second-bottom Kettering, who include forward James Gray who was with Quakers from October to January.

Making his Quakers' debut tomorrow will be keeper Jordan Nixon who also played yesterday in the youth team's final match, a 2-1 defeat at Bradford City.

"It was a bit of a risk, but we had nobody else and he'll play on Saturday," said Liddle.

David Ferguson scored yesterday and will again be in the squad tomorrow, along with Jamie Barton and Danny Lambert who both started at Bradford.

Following tomorrow's match a presentation of shirts to kit sponsors takes place, then Liddle and the players will meet fans in the Corner Bar at around 3.45pm.

Liddle has ensured that all players will attend, and he said: "I've told them that I want them all there, youth team and first team. I want them to attend the functions so that they show appreciation to the fans more than the other way around."

The Darlington Supporters Club will hold a function, including buffet and disco, in the Ron Greener suite from 5pm. Tickets £7 from

tonywaters.oms@gmail.com. All guests will be entered into a draw to win a share in DFC 1883.

DFC 1883 have arranged a fundraising abseiling session at the Arena on Saturday, May 5. Starting at 11am, participants will abseil from the roof of the stadium. Rock-It climbing have offered their staff and equipment free of charge to anybody who raises £50 or more in DFC 1883 sponsorship.
