A CAFE which was opened by a popular pie-makers two years ago has been named as the eatery which serves Darlington's best builder's breakfast.
Taylor's Cafe, in Lingfield Way, has won the competition run by staff at kitchen and joinery firm Magnet Trade, who have been asking builders across the UK where they get their favourite breakfast.
Cafes in Darlington were asked to take part by encouraging customers to vote.
Triumphing over the competition in Darlington, Taylor's has won the prize for its full English breakfast.
Paul Childs, the kitchen company's trade branch manager, said: "We're delighted that Taylor's Cafe has won the award for Darlington. There's been lots of competition and something our builder's have enjoyed participating in.
"It proves how important the local cafe is to the local builder."
