Tadhg Purcell comes in for his second Darlington debut as one of four changes as manager Mark Cooper seeks a reaction to consecutive defeats.

The Irish striker has returned to the club on loan from Northampton Town, taking the number nine shirt vacated by Tommy Wright, and is hoping to mark his return with a goal today at home to Hayes & Yeading.

Quakers have lost 2-0 twice in a row, to Mansfield and Luton, and the outcome is major changes today with Purcell, Jamie Chandler, Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and Aaron Brown coming into the line-up.

There's a surprise appearance on the bench too with Michael Brough returning to the club. He was out of contract in the summer and played a couple of games for Whitby recently, but has been training with Quakers since sustaining a serious knee injury last season.

Cooper values the midfielder highly and hopes he will be able to play some part this season. Droppng out of the line-up are Liam Hatch, Jonatan Sanchez-Munoz, Chris Atkinson and the suspended Graeme Lee. Both Sanchez-Munoz and Atkinson are on the bench, but there is no place among the 16 for Hatch whose performances have disappointed Cooper.

Hayes & Yeading, 19th in the table, recorded a league double over Darlington last season, Wrexham were the only other team to do that.
