DARLINGTON boss Mark Cooper has secured his second signing of the summer, with midfielder Kris Taylor joining the Quakers.

The 27-year-old, released by League Two side Port Vale at the end of last season, has penned a one-year deal at the Northern Echo Arena.

Cooper sees Taylor as a left-footed central midfield player in the class of Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and is excited by his capture.

"It's a big signing for us," said Cooper. "Kris has a great range of passing and is a set-piece specialist, he's certainly a player who will excite our supporters and entertain them.

"I tried to sign Kris last summer, but it didn't work out, so I'm delighted to get him this time and look forward to working with him."
