A MAN was hospitalised following an attack in a Darlington nightclub.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place on Saturday, December 18, at about 2.30am at Inside Out on Beaumont Street West.
The victim, a 36-year-old man from Staindrop, was with work colleagues on a Christmas night out when, without provocation, he was hit in the face with a bottle by another man.
Detective Constable Gary Walton, of Darlington CID, said the victim has suffered multiple injuries requiring numerous stitches.
He was initially taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital and then attended the University Hospital of Durham the following day.
His treatment included a general anaesthetic and an overnight stay in hospital.
