MARK Cooper is hoping his Darlington side can continue their eight-match unbeaten run when Wrexham visit the Northern Echo Arena on Saturday.

The Quakers currently lie two places and three points below the play-offs and haven’t lost a game since the home defeat to Grimsby back in August.

Today’s visitors were also on an eight-match run unbeaten until they were beaten by Grimsby on Tuesday and the Quakers boss expects Dean Saunders’ side to be tough opposition.

"It’s two big clubs for this level in statue," Cooper said. "They’ve obviously got beat the other night at Grimsby, so Dean will be looking to get back to winning ways.

"We want to keep our unbeaten run going so I’m looking forward to it, I think it’ll be a good game. Two teams with good players in their sides.

"Dean’s brought some good players in for this level, he’s a fantastic coach, great guy and I’m sure come the end of the season they’ll be a real force to be reckoned with."

Cooper has had a frustrating time with injuries recently but revealed captain Ian Miller could be in line for a comeback this weekend.

The 26-year-old has been out for five weeks after suffering knee ligament damage in the defeat to Grimbsy but is ready to return after undergoing treatment.

"Ian Miller will probably be available for selection," Cooper revealed.

"Gareth Waite played in a practice match at Middlesbrough’s training ground on Tuesday for 45 minutes and came through OK.

"Michael Brough is probably still a week to ten days away from training and Tommy Wright will be back soon.

"We’ve got four players that are sat in the stand at the moment that are probably a quarter of our budget and that tells you how vital they are and how much we’ve missed them.

"We are limited at the moment with injuries but hopefully in the next week we’ll have three of those four players back available for selection."

Cooper will also be without Paul Arnison after the defender was sent off in Tuesday night’s game with York and the manager admitted he was disappointed with the 33-year-old’s red card.

"Well have to replace Paul," the former Peterborough manager said.

"It was a crazy sending off for someone with his experience. I’ve told him that and I think he knows that and hopefully whoever goes in will put up a fight to keep him out the side."

Over 700 Quakers’ fans made the trip to Bootham Crescent in midweek and Cooper hopes they will recreate the atmosphere today when Wrexham visit.

"It was fantastic away support the other night,’’ he said. "It was a proper game with a proper atmosphere and if we can recreate that in every game we’ll be happy.

"But I still think its a difficult place for us to play. Apart from the Forest Green game we’ve not been overly dominant and it’s been a bit nail biting.

"It would be nice to be 4-0 up at half time and give the crowd something to cheer about and relieve the pressure a bit."
