A MOUNTAIN bike worth more than £4,000 has been stolen from the locked rack of a car.
The white and blue Giant Ancham Advance bicycle was fastened to the rack of a silver-coloured Volkswagen Caravelle.
The car was parked near the Binns store in High Row, when the thief smashed the lock at 1pm on Wednesday, July 21.
PC Neil McClintock, from Darlington police, said it was believed the owner was in Binns at the time.
PC McClintock appealed for anyone with information about the theft or the bike's whereabouts to contact police on 0345-60-60-365 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
