A MUSIC production duo have been making it big thousands of miles away from home.

Composers Steve Fox and Matt Bell, of SoulBasics, based at Darlington's The Forum Music Centre, have released their third single Rest Your Mind.

It has been released on Brazilian label Grooveland Music and has proved popular in the South American country.

The duo teamed up with Australian singer-songwriter Kyla Sexton for the single.

Mr Fox said: "Our work, which we would describe as laid-back soul and house music, seems to be just what the Brazilians want to hear.

"It's fantastic that music composed in Darlington is proving so popular thousands of miles away."

Following their international success, Mr Fox plans to share his expertise.

He added: "I have noticed that many DJs aspire to becoming music producers so I'm offering the people in the Darlington area the chance to learn production techniques.

"I have a background in teaching music technology at college level so I decided to develop production courses that allow anyone to make music, with or without a music education."
