TWO motorcycling friends have returned home after a day-long trip to raise money for a children's hospice.
Rod Allen and Phil Hooper rode for 15 hours on Monday, from Land's End to John O'Groats.
The Darlington pair were raising money for the Butterwick Children's Hospice, in Stockton.
They have raised about £700 between them, but with Mr Hooper's employers to double his share, the total will reach four figures.
Mr Allen, who rode the bike during the trip, said: "We wanted to do it for the bairns and we have a friend who works at the hospice, so we thought it would go hand in hand."
The pair had to tackle wet weather and strong winds during the ride.
Sara Benson, Darlington fundraiser for the hospice, said: "Fundraisers such as this are great to see and we thank the guys for taking up this challenge."
