NEW beginners karate classes are being held for children in Darlington.
The classes are being held by Darlington Junior Karate Self Defence Club.
They take place on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm at Harrowgate Hill Church Hall on Lowson Street from Thursday, January 15.
They are open to boys and girls aged between six and 14 years and new beginners are welcome.
The club teaches Wadoryu karate and beginners and advanced members are taught in separate sections.
Parents are welcome to watch their child being taught.
Instructors and club members are fully insured and registered with the British Karate Association.
Enrolment is free and each session costs £2.50.
