RECYCLING PLANT: An industrial warehouse will be demolished to make way for a recycling facility at Albert Hill industrial estate, Darlington. The former Darlington Wire Mills will make way for a smaller unit. The facility will process up to 10,000 tonnes of construction, demolition and excavation waste a year.

SALVAGE YARD: Despite objections from local businesses, Ward Bros Steel have been granted application to move their existing to Alexander Le Skerne, Unit 37, Cleveland Trading Estate. The site will process ferrous and non ferrous metal. The committee voted unanimously in favour of the application.

NEW HOMES: Office buildings on the Hopetown House site on Brinkburn Road will be demolished to make way for 14 new homes. No letters of objection were received and the committee voted unanimously in favour of the proposals, which will include affordable housing.

NEW HOUSING: A detached home will be built at 494 Coniscliffe Road in Darlington. The three-storey home will have access directly off Coniscliffe Mews.

FOOD OUTLET: Oven Rotisserie, at 36 Duke Street, was given retrospective approval for a change of use from a shop to a hot food takeaway.

FARM HOUSING: A house will be built at The Paddock in Killerby, near Heighington, to house farm workers. The house will give the applicant the opportunity to use land to form a farming enterprise.

NEW HOUSE: A two-storey house will be built at Dibdale Road in Neasham, near Darlington.
