FANS at Darlington Football Club could be offered up to a third off the price of their season tickets as part of a raft of measures being considered for next season.

However, the major discounts would only be applicable if the club sells a certain amount of adult season tickets.

The club is canvassing Quakers fans to gauge their opinions of different season ticket pricing options.

Other options include a free sweatshirt for every season ticket and a price freeze for the next three years.

The club is already planning its strategy for 2009/2010 and is determined to increase its season ticket base by offering the most attractive package possible.

Fans will be offered a choice of options and asked which one would most encourage them buy or renew a season ticket and their views will help the club to set its pricing structure.

Raj Singh, vice-chairman at Darlington Football Club said: "We have pledged to listen to the opinions of our fans and one of the most important decisions they make each year is whether to buy a season ticket. "We appreciate that money is tight for many supporters in the current economic climate and we want to be certain that next season's package appeals to as many people as possible.

"We hope all our regular supporters will complete the survey as well as those who, for whatever reason, do not regularly attend matches."

The survey is asking fans to tick which of the following options appeals to them.

* A free Darlington sweatshirt, RRP £35, with every season ticket with no increase on current prices.

* A freeze on season ticket prices for the next three seasons regardless of which league the club is in.

* Significant discounts, for example 30 to 35 per cent discount off the adult price (however this could only be achieved by reaching a set target of the adult season tickets).

Fans can pick up survey forms at the Darlington Arena ticket office, Priestgate club shop, at the turnstiles on match days, the club website and they also will be distributed by supporters club members.
