A DISABLED pensioner, who is battling to organise a Dad's Army convention, has had her car and home targeted by vandals.

Josie Collins, from Anfield Court, Red Hall, Darlington, had the back window of her car smashed on Tuesday.

Later that night, after police had left, the vandals returned and smashed the passenger window of Mrs Collins' car. Other residents in the area also reported vandalism.

Mrs Collins, a fan of cult television shows, told of her shock at the attack. She believes she was deliberately targeted.

She said: "I am still shaking, and it's not often I get the shakes. I had two epileptic fits after the attacks.

"I think the second lot of damage was caused because I called the police after the first time."

Mrs Collins says she has been regularly targeted while living in Red Hall. She has had her house windows smashed, and the tyres on her car slashed.

"Every window on the house has been smashed," she said. "We have an idea who is responsible. I just don't know why they do it."

Tickets are still available for a Dad's Army convention, organised by Mrs Collins, which will be held in Darlington later this month. Frank Williams, who played the vicar, has been signed up for the event. It takes place at the town's Dolphin Centre next Saturday and Sunday
