JAY-JAY OKOCHA has become the latest former Premier League player to confirm he will play against Darlington on Sunday.

The Nigerian played for Bolton Wanderers and Hull City in the Premier League, dazzling defences with his quick footwork and mazy dribbles.

Before moving to England in 2002 Okocha, now 44, spent time with Paris St Germain, Eintracht Frankfurt and Fenerbahçe.

Sunday's game is Quakers’ reward, as well as £20,000, from Marathon Bet for winning a competition to find the best goal celebration in non-league last season, a prize won thanks to Reece Styche jumping into a mound of snow after scoring against Chorley in January.

Other names in the Premier League team include Jeremie Aliadiere, Chris Waddle, Kieron Dyer, Yakubu and Marco Gabbiadini, who scored over 50 goals for Darlington in two seasons in the late 1990s, but also played in top flight for Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

The Premier League XI will play against Quakers’ first-team in the first 45 minutes on Sunday, with a side of Darlington heroes providing the opposition for the second half.

Wright will be in the Darlington Legends team, as will assistant manager Alan White.

Kick-off is 2pm on Sunday and it is not all-ticket, with admission £10 for adults and £5 concessions.
