A SUMMER bike ride led by an experienced cyclist will be held in August as part of a campaign to encourage residents to enjoy the outdoors.
The family-friendly 10.5-mile ride from Darlington's South Park Clock Tower to Middleton St George is classed as a moderate route, which will include some riding on roads on quieter residential streets.
A cyclist will lead the ride who is first aid trained and the route will include stops for drinks and a break to eat.
Cyclists must bring a helmet, bike lock, packed lunch, drinks and gloves, rain jackets or sun scream, depending on the weather.
The free ride will begin at 1pm on Thursday, August 2, finishing at around 4pm.
Children are welcome but must be able to ride a bike safely without stabilisers.
Booking is essential and can be done so by visiting bigsummer.co.uk
