Police advice

DARLINGTON Police will be on the lookout this week for vehicles left unlocked or that have items of value on display. Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will carry out the checks while on patrol across the town in a bid to increase awareness around vehicle crime. Anyone who has left valuables on display or who has left their vehicle unsecured may be reminded by PCSOs of the potential risks it carries.

Trees felled

DARLINGTON Council has confirmed two trees are to be felled today. The first is a horse chestnut tree, located in the centre of Stanhope Park, which is to be felled as it is infected and its structural integrity has been compromised. The second is a dead horse chestnut tree, located near the bandstand in North Lodge Park. The council said the tree is also to be felled as it’s structural integrity has been compromised. Replacement trees will be planted in the winter months.
