THE first wave of artists has been announced for a major music and comedy festival coming to Darlington this autumn.

Last Train Home will see an eclectic mix of performers take to the stage at venues across the town on September 22.

Headliners include Manchester band PINS, who will take centre stage at the Theatre Hullabaloo, having recently performed at Lauren Laverne's GET North event in Gateshead.

David Saunders from Tracks, the music collective behind the festival, said: “There’s some exciting talent on offer from a wide variety of genres.

“We’re really proud of be bringing artists of this calibre to Darlington and putting them on the bill alongside artists from the town.”

The Lovely Eggs, who recently toured with comedian Phil Jupitus, will headline a stage at Hogans while a variety of acts will entertain crowds at venues including St John the Evangelist and Legacy Skate Store.

The Hilarity Bites' comedy stage at The Greyhound will play host to a number of comedians including Cal Halbert and Eddy Brimson.

Tickets for the festival are £15 in advance.
