A SPORTS club is opening its doors to give would-be members a sample of what the institution has to offer.
The Darlington Indoor Bowls Club is hosting free trials for those keen to try the sport, with new bowlers welcome to join the event for a taster session.
The club, which opened in 1980 on the site of the original North Road Locomotive Works, had its playing surface replaced in 2012 and it can accommodate up to 64 bowlers.
The international-sized flat green bowling facility is open to both members and the general public for use.
The club has an active junior section for young bowlers between the ages of six and 18.
For more information on arranging trials or visiting during an open day, call the Darlington Indoor Bowls Club on 01325-485414 or visit darlingtonibc.co.uk
