Hurworth fun
CHILDREN’S miniature train rides will be available for families to enjoy at Hurworth Grange with the support of South Durham Model Engineers on Saturday, June 30. They will be available from 10am to 12.30pm.
Author event
A SPECIAL event at Darlington Library next month will see an award-winning author and poet reveal how she combined fact with fiction for her latest novel. Mandy Sutter’s childhood experiences in Nigeria inspired her latest book ‘Bushmeat’, published in October last year. The author has also written several part-fact, part-fiction books about the lives of Somali women as well as numerous poetry pamphlets. She will be at Crown Street Library on Wednesday, July 11, from 1.30pm. Admission is free but places must be booked in advance.
