Bag packing

CHILDREN at a farm-based children’s nursery on the outskirts of Darlington were told to pack their bags – but it was all in a good cause. Pre-school children at High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton recently spent a morning doing a bag pack at the Morrison’s store in Morton Park Darlington. They helped shoppers to pack their groceries and in return people were asked to make a small donation. The bag pack raised £300 for High Bank’s charity of the year for 2018, for Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Bondgate party

THE 25 years of working in the community was celebrated by a gathering of more than 60 people, volunteers and customers, old and new to hear about the vision that created the Bondgate Centre. Members heard about how the dedication of the Church 25 years earlier to be a place of welcome for the town during the week had generated a place of grace and hope. Two original members cut the cake.

Beck clean-up

The area quickly saw an improvement as a total of 28 volunteers got hands on in clearing the area.
