DARLINGTON'S Dance Festival will continue with a performance focusing on male mental health.
The Darlington Dance Festival Association is working with Hit the Ground Running and several dance schools to stage Macho, an all-male performance aiming to raise awareness of issues relating to men's mental health and how they express emotion.
It will feature a curtain raiser piece from Darlington dance schools and is the next instalment in the Dance Festival Association’s ‘Express Yourself for Mental Health’ festival, which was launched by 700 dancers in a mass dance in May.
A spokesman from Hippodrome Dance said: “People should come and watch it because mental health is an issue that needs to be spoken about and dance is a really amazing way of expressing that.”
Macho will be staged at Theatre Hullabaloo on Sunday, June 24 at 1pm and 6pm. Tickets priced at £10 and £6 for concessions are available from the Hippodrome box office. To book, call 01325 405405.
