A SHOPPING centre and one of its stores are preparing for a summer of football with a chance to trade stickers.

The Cornmill Shopping Centre has teamed up with WH Smith to run a pop-up sticker swap station ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

Each Saturday between 10am and 11am throughout May and June, sticker collectors will be able to visit the station in the upper mall and trade Harry Kane for Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Susan Young, centre manager at the Cornmill Centre, said: “The centre will be celebrating the biggest sporting event of the summer by inviting shoppers and local residents to get into the football spirit and swapping their cards to see who can complete their albums.

"Albums and stickers will also be available to buy from the centre’s WHSmith.”

The 2018 World Cup is being held in Russia and will begin on June 14.

England have been drawn in Group G for the tournament alongside Belgium, Tunisia and Panama.
