ORGANISERS of an upcoming Pick, Pie and a Pint event are recruiting teams of regular volunteers to join them in litter picking around Darlington.
Each team will be given an area or neighbourhood close to the town centre to clean, led by a team leader from Darlington Cares responsible for collecting and distributing equipment.
After each litter pick has been completed, volunteers receive a ticket to exchange for a free pie and a pint in The Hole in the Wall pub, off Horsemarket.
The event, sponsored by The Northern Echo, is open to Darlington Cares members.
Healthy or vegetarian options can be served, or soft drinks as an alternative to a pint, if organisers are advised of dietary requirements beforehand.
The next event will be held on Friday, March 2, between 4pm and 5.30pm, meeting at The Hole in the Wall at 3.45pm.
