LITTLE experts from the Cornmill Centre’s Kids Club were spreading the love and helping raise funds to support the Age UK Ukulele Band at a special performance in the shopping centre.

Children sang along and danced to classic songs while asking for donations to support the charity’s work in Darlington.

Age UK Darlington provides ukulele lessons to elderly residents of the borough for every Thursday at Bradbury House, in a bid to bring the community together in an upbeat atmosphere.

Gillian Peel, chief executive officer of Age UK Darlington, said: “The Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington Ukulele Band brings a smile to the face of everyone who hears them.

“From Bill at 97-years-old to the younger members there is so much life, energy and talent, all directed by Lol, our incredibly talented and patient volunteer ukulele teacher.”

Susan Young, centre manager of Darlington’s Cornmill Shopping Centre, said: “Thank you to our Kids Club Little Experts and the Age UK Ukulele Band who stole the hearts of our shoppers this week and helped raised awareness and funds for this very important cause.”
