A NEW choir of hospice staff and supporters are gearing up for their debut performance at a Christmas concert extravaganza.

Members of the St Teresa’s Staff and Supporters Choir will make their first public appearance at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, tonight as part of the hospice’s annual Christmas Cracker Concert.

The choir, led by chief executive of St Teresa’s Hospice Jane Bradshaw, will perform two songs at the festive spectacular.

“We are especially grateful to all the local choirs and musicians who give their time and I’m especially thrilled this year to be joining them with my colleagues in our newly-formed hospice choir which comprises staff and volunteers who have all given up their free time to perform on the night," said Mrs Bradshaw.

"I’m sure it will be a fabulous evening for the whole community.”

The night of festive fun will also include carols, guest choirs, soloist performances, a massed choir and orchestra led by musical director John Forsyth.

A prize will be given for the best Christmas jumper and audience members are encouraged to dress up.

Tickets are £10 for adults or £5 for under 16s and will be on sale at the Dolphin Centre tonight.
