EMPLOYEES at a supermarket and estate agents have been collecting parcels to give to needy children at Christmas.
Carver Estate Agents and the Co-op in Cockerton have teamed up to collect donations for the annual Salvation Army Toy Appeal.
The charity aims to collect unwrapped toys and gifts for children who might not otherwise receive a visit from Father Christmas this year.
Alison Nunes, of Carver Building Surveyors, on St Cuthbert’s Way, said: “We hope to spread the word for this great cause.
“Donations need to be received by Saturday, December 16 to ensure they reach those in need by Christmas Eve.”
Ms Nunes and her friend Jacob Dixon, who works for the Co-op, have been sourcing donations from within both their companies to donate next week.
Salvation Army centres across the UK run the Christmas present appeal until mid-December each year.
Once donations are received they are then gift-wrapped and distributed to those in need.
