HALLOWEEN fun came to two primary schools last week as local buses visited for a 'spooktacular' event.

Bus company Arriva North East held fun days at Red Hall Primary School and Mount Pleasant Primary School, both in Darlington.

The day included a trick or treat trail, music, games on the bus, and a 'ghoulish' giveaway.

Arriva was promoting its family half term day pass, with which families can enjoy trips to events around the town, including the Monsters and Ghouls Halloween Bash at the Harrowgate Hill Club & Institute, the Darlington Fireworks Spectacular at The Northern Echo Arena, and the Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum where customers can benefit from free entry over the October school holiday.

Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East, said: "We hope to encourage customers to take advantage of our great value-for-money Darlington Town fares, whether it be getting out and about with the kids this half term on the £7 day ticket or travelling for £1 on an evening."
