YOUNG athletes have taken time out of their busy schedules to celebrate a season of success for their team.
Hummersknott Badminton Club members enjoyed a prize-giving ceremony to commemorate their 43rd season and to mark achievements from the last 12 months.
The event was hosted at Hummersknott Academy, off Edinburgh Drive, Darlington, earlier this month.
A spokeswoman for the club said: "The club has developed from the Hummersknott School team and is still heavily centred at the school, but it has expanded a little to include partnership with young players from other establishments and especially Hummersknott alumni.
"Notably, the Key Stage 3 girls team reached the national finals – the 39th school team to reach finals stages since 1982 – and the two international tours."
Costs for travelling on the tours was largely covered by Hummersknott Badminton Club and donations from Darlington Building Society.
