FIRE CREWS were called to a blaze at a house in Grange Road, Darlington, yesterday.
The fire broke out in the roof of a bungalow while repairs were being carried out.
No one was hurt.
Crews from Darlington Fire Station were called at 12.30pm.
Watch manager John Walkden said: "We were able to deal with this quickly because the alarm was raised very early.
"It shows how important it is to have smoke alarms installed."
