A TEAM of volunteers from fast food restaurants in Darlington have vowed to keep the town clean by picking up bin bags and scouring the streets.
A ten-strong group of staff members from the town’s Morton Park and Whessoe Road McDonald’s restaurants have risen to the challenge of clearing litter from the Denes area and its parks.
The team collected ten bags full of rubbish during the clean-up as part the Keep Britain Tidy campaign to encourage residents to look after their neighbourhoods.
Business manager Gemma Winrow, who operates the Whessoe Road McDonald’s, said: “It was great to see everyone come together and help tidy up the area around the Denes park.
“It’s a key priority of ours to ensure that the local area remains free of litter and an enjoyable place to live, work and visit.
“I’m proud of my staff’s ongoing commitment to making the area a better place.
“They did a fantastic job and the park is much safer and cleaner now for the families who spend their leisure time there.”
