NUISANCE off-road bikers and anti-social behaviour in two Darlington estates has sparked a police appeal for information.

Residents in Firthmoor and Red Hall have reported an increase in the number of motorbikes and off-road vehicles in the area.

Darlington Police’s Neighbourhood Policing Team have issued an appeal online for witnesses to identify the culprits or supply photographic evidence of any incidents.

A Darlington Police spokesman said: “Not only is this behaviour disrupting the quality of life for local residents, it is also putting the safety of the general public and that of the riders in jeopardy – not to mention the offences that are being committed.

“In order to combat such nuisance we require the public’s help to provide us with information regarding who is riding these bikes and which addresses they are coming from.

“If you have any information regarding offenders and addresses or any images of those causing this nuisance please email asbbikes@durham.pnn.police.uk and we will look to act on the intelligence provided.”
