A WOMAN will face a trial in the summer on an allegation that she intentionally wounded a man at a house in Darlington.

Romana Sowerby-Blain denied a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm when she appeared in court.

The 35-year-old, of Hurworth Place, Darlington, was on a live video-link to Teesside Crown Court from HMP Low Newton.

Wearing a smart grey jacket with a neck tie during the brief hearing, she spoke only to confirm her name and enter her plea.

Judge Tony Briggs said a trial – expected to last between one and two days – has been scheduled to begin on June 15.

A 46-year-old man is said to have suffered serious stab wounds in an incident in Salisbury Terrace on January 10.
