A BOWLS club has been awarded funding.
Darlington North Park Bowls Club has received £1,000 from the Aviva Community Fund competition.
The funding follows an award of £64,500 from Sport England which the club received last year.
In 2015, the club was successful with its bid to the Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving scheme for £500 for urgent repairs to its bowling green.
Ian Charlton, secretary of Darlington North Park Bowls Club, said: “The funding will enable us to purchase new equipment, which will go alongside major renovations to its green.
“It will also make for a more pleasant playing environment.”
The Aviva Community Fund is held annually and has financed more than 800 community projects in the UK.
