THREE generations of one family have become the first ambassadors for the Alzheimer’s Society in Darlington.
The family, headed by Mick and Barbara Stephenson and going down to their three grandchildren, are helping to raise awareness of the support available for people living with dementia in Darlington.
The family regularly take part in the park run in South Park on a Saturday morning and last week the whole family took part in the Walk in the Park arranged by the Alzheimer’s Society and Groundwork NE and Cumbria.
Local dementia support worker Jenny Leeming has been providing information and advice to the family over the last 18-months, helping them to support Mick who has dementia.
Darlington’s Alzheimer’s Society has 50 of the running and cycling vests to give away for a small donation.
Wearing the shirts will help raise awareness of the support available in the town for anyone concerned about their memory, with a recent diagnosis or needing support and information.
For more information contact Ms Leeming on 01642-442030.
