OUTSPOKEN politician George Galloway will visit Darlington next week.

The MP will be the guest of honour at a screening of a crowdfunded documentary about Tony Blair on Monday, December 5.

The Killings of Tony Blair, narrated by Mr Galloway, tackles allegations surrounding the former PM and criticises his role in the Iraq war.

George Galloway will host a question and answer session with audience members following a showing of the film at The Forum.

The event has been organised by the Waking Up to Climate Change project in collaboration with the Darlington Film Club.

Organiser Louise Graham said: “People feel very strongly about our politicians.

“They are not expected to be perfect, but when they make mistakes, they should be held to account.

“There was a war in Iraq because Tony Blair said there were weapons of mass destruction there when there was not.

“This film sends a very powerful message and George is a very charismatic person.

“We are really looking forward to having him speak to us about his motivation and political career.”

The event begins at 7pm with Mr Galloway hosting a Q&A after the film.

Tickets are still on sale and cost £7.50. To book call 01325-363135.
